The anti-gay Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights is going on the attack against "those who are distorting the truth about priestly sexual abuse."

The group bought an expensive full-page ad in The New York Times Monday that places the blames for the church's scandals on "homosexuality, not pedophilia."

And perhaps most shockingly, it also claimed that some children were active participants in the abuse.

"The refrain that child rape is a reality in the Church is twice wrong: let’s get it straight -- they weren’t children and they weren’t raped," self-appointed Catholic League president Bill Donohue wrote in the ad.

"We know from the John Jay study that most of the victims have been adolescents, and that the most common abuse has been inappropriate touching (inexcusable though this is, it is not rape)," he added, referencing a 2004 study by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, which was funded by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

"The Boston Globe correctly said of the John Jay report that 'more than three-quarters of the victims were post pubescent, meaning the abuse did not meet the clinical definition of pedophilia.' In other words, the issue is homosexuality, not pedophilia," Donohue wrote.

"What accounts for the relentless attacks on the Church?" he asked in conclusion. "Let's face it: if its teachings were pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage and pro-women clergy, the dogs would have been called off years ago."

Marianne Duddy-Burke, executive director of DignityUSA, a pro-gay Catholic group, told The Advocate that there were "so many problems with what Mr. Donohue is saying."

She pointed out that Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) figures showed that half of those abused are female.

"He avoids what is in many ways the larger sin -- the cover-up and enabling of abuse," she added.

It's not Mothers' Day, but with all the daffodils and crocuses coming up, it just might be time to drag out a Mother's Day sermon. After all, it's Women's History Month, and this is, historically, what it's like to be a woman listening to this kind of sermon every year on Mothers' Day. Yeah, you get to hear about what an evil slut you are. I suddenly realize that it's pretty damned easy to find something to listen to to be reminded how big of an evil slut you are, and I really didn't need to help. But sometimes, just sometimes, we privileged few who do not have to live in that kind of environment (where you have to listen to males between the ages of 14 and 30 who were not raised by two moms), you don't realize what kind of propaganda gets pumped into the souls of people with evil, slutty vaginas and vulvae and pudenda and that sort of thing. Makes us watch terrible television and read awful magazines, apparently. That's beside the point. If I wanted to Destroy America, I'd....wait a minute. I DO want to Destroy America! This is a two-parter, so today you'll be getting the first half of "It's a Conspiracy," which includes clips from The Hitler Channel's "Secret Societies," with crazy old David Icke. Now, some of you may be familiar with Icke from Alex Jones and the like, so you may not know that Icke thinks there's a race of alien lizard people disguising themselves as powerful leaders. He really thinks this. Hey--some people are so incredulous about this claim, they'd prefer to believe Icke means "Jews" when he says "Lizard." Quoth David Icke, "Sometimes a lizard is just a lizard."

Betty Dodson, PhD, (born August 24, 1929) is an American sex educator, author, and artist. Dodson held the first one-woman show of erotic art at the Wickersham Gallery in New York City in 1968. She left the art world to teach sex to women. She is widely known as a pioneer in women's, and to a somewhat lesser extent men's, sexual liberation, having sold more than 1 million copies of her first book, Sex for One. Much of her fame has come from her work not only advocating masturbation, but conducting workshops for more than 30 years in which groups of about 10 or more women (and at least once a group of men) would talk, explore their own bodies, and masturbate together. She hosted a public access cable television program in New York City in the early 80's, and conducted her workshop - a dozen or so nude women discussing and practicing masturbation - on TV. Her website called "Betty Dodson's Genital Gallery" shows many films of masturbation and intercourse, with close-up views of genitals.
